WanderlustRPG
A downloadable game for Windows
Well, there it is. A twinkle. (for the random people who aren't working on this game and happen to find it / play it, this game is about 3-4 years of work and not finished! It's mostly an engine at the moment but still getting better. I guarantee nothing!)
Most recent update (5/29/25) is level data, footsteps, zoom nonsense, water and submerging, terrain data, and lots of little adjustments and scripting stuff. Not much in the way of assets though. Remember you can type "help" in the command console to see all the command options! This is important if you want to test and mess around with things fully. I use it constantly for my dev testing and you probably should too.

pretty neat little game! I played it for maybe 5 minutes. a few issues I had with the current version:
when the game started, the window was super small so small I could hardly read text and such (edit: there's a fullscreen option :) )
not much of a tutorial, I wasn't clear on what to do. I got stuck in the first level(?) with the pillars and trees, without any idea of what to do
the transition screen on the bridge was finicky, it would often place me back out of the room and also slightly clipped into the side.
the audio seemed was pretty but seemed to cut in and out oddly.
I think there was a shop to buy things? I couldn't get it to work
things I liked about the game:
the visual style was very pretty, the colors were excellent, the strange way the trees changed based on perspective and such.
that mixed with the music gave the whole thing a wonderful, dreamlike quality.
definitely a very cool and enjoyable experience and I'm interested to see where this game goes in the future
Heya Gatsby, thanks for playing lol. The clipping and the shops are things I changed recently and didn't fix yet. Indeed there's no real direction or tutorial, there is a quest that directs you through the island and cave areas but even that isnt finished. There's lots of things that *are* done and not explained, the quest log, inventories, spell system (40+ unique spells), other levels beyond the spawn.. nothing is laid out in a sensible way because this is essentially just where I threw things while programming. It's very much not a build for the end user but just a little tech demo really. Hopefully soon though, as I've recently been working with an additional writer and artist and music people who all are excited to finally put together a real piece of the game. It will get real very quickly from here I think haha. But until then, it's everything you saw, lol.
looks awesome! keep working on it
